Write a brief bio:
I grew up in the a small town in northern Illinois. I am the youngest of 13 children. My father came home from WW2 and began an electrical contracting business in which he trained each of the nine boys. With 8 older brothers and 4 older sisters there never was a dull moment in our home.
Family Information:
April 13, 1985 I married my HS sweetheart Jill. We have five wonderful children; Joshua is 19 serving in the US Army in Fort Drum New York. Grant (17) is a senior at Meadow Creek School and has recently joined the Army reserves. Katelyn (15) is a freshman at Anoka HS. She is active in Cross country, Nordic skiing and Track. Alexis (13) is in 7th grade at Meadow Creek School. She too is involved in Cross country, Nordic skiing and Track. Zechariah (10) is in fourth grade at Meadow Creek School. He is the entertainment in our home. His insight and new discoveries keep us laughing and on our toes.
What was your first car?
Red Buick Regal two door with a white vinyl roof. The doors were so large that I felt I had to have an empty parking space in parking lots between my car and the next one so my door would not hit theirs.
Do you prefer skim or 2% milk?
2%
Anything with my family. I just love spending time with them.
What are your favorite bands?
I enjoy much of what is on Christian stations. I do not really have a favorite band but Steve Green is one of my favorite artists,
What are some of your hobbies?
Hunting, fishing, camping, studying history and woodworking. I have built numerous pieces of furniture in our home.
Did you have a nickname in elementary school? How did that come about?
Everyone of my friends had nicknames but I was never given one.
Do you prefer tea or coffee or Mountain Dew?
MOUNTAIN DEW!!!!!!!
What is your favorite time of day?
Early morning when it is quiet.
If you were not in ministry, what would you be doing right now?
I would most likely be teaching HS in a public school and an electrician on the side.
Your favorite spot in the Twin Cities area?
Any place that has woods.
What is your favorite vegetable?
Potatoes, preferably mashed.
How did you come to know Christ?
I grew up in a church but never heard about a relationship with Christ until I was 16. I could not comprehend that God wanted a relationship with me personally, and why I never heard this in my church of 16 years. I ran from the Lord for 4 years until June 20, 1983 my brother brought me to a Dallas Holm concert at his church. At that concert the gospel finally made sense but I was determined to not accept this truth. I went home that night still determined to reject Christ but the Lord broke through my hard heart late that night and in the quietness of my bedroom I repented of my sin and accepted Christ into my life.
What is your favorite Bible verse?
Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Philippians 1:6
Anything else that people should know about you?
I love serving the Lord in and through the local church.
