Lessons from the Master Story Teller

Christ was an amazing story teller. He captured the imagination of his hearers with his brilliant – yet simple stories drawn from everyday life. His parables are stories with an intent to inform, motivate, inspire and sometimes, to confront. He mastered the art of drawing people into the narrative and allowing his listeners to understand the Father’s heart and to peer into their own hearts.

Now, 2000 years later, Jesus is still bringing truth to us through his parables. These “Stories with Intent” are lesson in life for followers of Christ. They provide us with insights into his Kingdom and how we are to live as children of the King.

Join us this summer as we turn our attention to the words of Christ through the simple, memorable parables.

Used Cell Phone Recycling

For the next 6 weeks, the Philadelphia Project of MCC will be collecting cell phones with their batteries. They will be recycled by GRC Wireless Recycling. GRC will pay between 50¢ - $30 per phone depending on make & model. Money received will be donated to “Feed My Starving Children” (FMSC), a Christian organization dedicated to feeding children around the world. Starting this Sunday, the “Cell Phone Recycling Collection Box” will be available by the Welcome Center. Sometime in June, MCC will have the opportunity to go to the FMSC facility in Brooklyn Center to package meals that will be sent where needed. Watch for details and join in this effort if possible. Thanks for donating your used and old phones.

Operation Uplift

Let's lift up our service men and women through prayer and letters. For mailing addresses and information, see the display near the church Welcome Center.

If you are a part of Meadow Creek Church and have a family member or loved one serving in the US military, please contact Marcy Berens at marceleberens@comcast.net with any updates.

Nursery Help Wanted—Adults Needed

First Sunday of the month during Sunday School, third and fourth Sunday of the month during 8:30 and 11:00 services. When you serve others, even in the smallest of tasks, you are serving the Lord!

*Also consider our sub list - an opportunity to serve with flexibility. To apply, please contact Rachel Moyes, Nursery Coordinator, day or evening at 568-9827.

Host Homes Needed

Meadow Creek Christian School is hosting an English Language Camp for students from China this summer from July 11-28. We need host families (you need to have beds/air mattresses for two students) lunch preparers/coordinators, and two high school boys to help with the camp. If you have any interest in helping with any of these roles, please contact Sara Holland at sholl@meadowcreeksaints.org.

Short Term Missions Opportunity
July 25 – August 4

Meadow Creek Church will be partnering with Grace Church – Eden Prairie  in planning a Short Term Mission trip to Peru this summer.

Small Groups

Do you desire a closer walk with God and a sense of connection? Small Group ministry can breathe new life into your spiritual walk. Everyone is encouraged to become part of a small group. It is a means to nurture God’s family more intimately. We have several groups that meet on various nights of the week.

You might also check the Welcome Center for brochure information and participation forms, or contact Melody Virchow at 763.427.4543 x102, or email your request to mccmail@meadowcreekchurch.org.

Learn what it means to know real intimacy with God and others as we build each other up through our small group ministry.

Child Dedication

If you are interested in having your child dedicated during the Worship Service on Sunday, August 10, 2008, call Sandra Johnson at 763.427.4543 ext. 107.

2nd Annual Outdoor Baptism & Triathlon – Sunday, July 13

MEADOW CREEK has Ham Lake Camp Facilities reserved for the day so bring a blanket, your lawn chairs, your own picnic lunch, snacks and beverages, and plan to spend the day at the beach and go swimming. USE the paddle and fishing boats available or bring your own big toys! There is lots of family fun here including basketball courts, volleyball, and carpet ball among many other fun things to do. The camp is just minutes from church.

At 2:30 p.m. our Student Ministry will be hosting a Triathlon at Ham Lake Bible Camp. The Triathlon is open to anyone wanting to participate. We will canoe 3 miles – bike 13 miles – and run 3 miles. Cost to enter is $5.00. We will have prizes for all who enter. Come participate and/or cheer on the entrants. Contact Pastor Ray Fritz to enter. We will need canoes for this event so if you have a canoe we can borrow, let Pastor Ray know.
At 6:00 p.m. we will end the afternoon with our outdoor Baptism Service. What a special time to follow the Lord in obedience!

If you have not yet followed in Believer’s Baptism and would like to do so on July 13th, let the church office know at 763-427-4543, ext. 102. There is a required Baptism Class scheduled for Wednesday, July 2, at 7:00 p.m. in the church office. This class will help answer any questions you might have concerning why baptism is so important to the Lord and let you know how to prepare for baptism. Please let us know you will be attending both the class as well as participating in baptism on July 13.
